xiŕa (02_Particles in Asaxi)

xiŕa

Usage

xiŕa is the default Validity Compound for existence. It acts as the static “To Be” copula. Unlike active verbs, it does not conjugate for aspect; instead, it marks the sentence as a Static Fact or Definition.

Structure: It is composed of two functional slots:

  1. xi- (Definition Slot): Defines the nature of the state (Pure Existence).
  2. -ŕa (Validity Marker): Stamps the definition as a valid truth.

Modifications:

  • Tense: Tense prefixes attach to the xi root, wrapping it inside the validity marker.

    • Past: zèxiŕa (Existed / Was).
    • Future: paxiŕa (Will exist / Will be).
  • Proximal Location: Deictic prefixes attach to xi to define location as a state.

    • Example: oxiŕa (Is here).

Replacement Rule: The root xi can be replaced by Relational Particles to create specific Stative Verbs (e.g., ni + ŕa = niŕa “Becomes”). If xi is present, it strictly means “Exists”.

For dynamic states, roles, or temporary conditions, use ů (verb) instead.
